Latvian National Foundation – LNF - has been located in Stockholm, Sweden since year 1947. But since Latvia regained its freedom more and more of the work of LNF is done in Latvia.

The sphere of activity for each year is set by the LNF council (padome) (consisting of 15 persons elected for 3 years) at the annual meeting in February in Stockholm.

The board (consisting of 5 plus 2 substitutes elected from the council for 3 years) executes the tasks given by the council. Meetings of the board are held 10 times/year either in Stockholm or Riga.
